2009 National Showcase Results:

Congratulations to all of our National Showcase Competitors who made an outstanding showing on August 13-15 at the World Arena in Colorado Springs. We would like to give a special recognition to Joe Johnson who was 3rd in the Parade of Champions!!! The Parade of Champions participants include all of the skaters from every level who finished 1st in their respective final round competitions, from both light and dramatic artistic events, and compete one final time against each other. Joe placed third among a very elite group of skaters which is a terrific accomplishment! Our theatrical production ensembles also performed exceptionally well, with "Pirates of the Caribbean" placing 1st, and "Over the Rooftops" placing 3rd in their round!!  Way to go!!

Congratulations Skaters who competed at

The Broadmoor Open June 21-27! Great Job!!

NEW COLLEGIATE MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE:

ISCFC will offer a new collegiate membership to our skaters who are enrolled in 2 or 4 year programs or are in graduate school. In short, the collegiate membership is intended to help keep college-aged skaters on the ice during this very busy (and usually impoverished!) period of their lives by offering a greatly reduced membership rate. USFS instituted this new membership category in June 2009, and the ISCFC Board has been trying to decide how to work this within our club fee structure and financial distribution.

USFS offers collegiate skaters a four year membership at a reduced rate of $70 total for a 4-year period. This represents an overall reduction of 56% on the part of USFS. On top of this, ISCFC will waive 100% of their portion of the annual membership fee for the 4-year period: the total cost to the skater is $70 for 4 years (that's a total savings of $258). Collegiate members will enjoy the full benefits of membership in ISCFC with one exception: since we are waiving all club fees, individual collegiate members will not be eligible for additional financial distribution.

If you are interested in taking part in this tremendous savings, please contact our membership chair, Kathy Spurrier. If you have already renewed for the year, we will need to take steps to change your membership category and adjust your monies accordingly. Kathy will work with you to make these changes. We will need verification that you are enrolled in a collegiate program (copy of student ID, school schedule, letter from registrar, etc.).

A couple of things to keep in mind: the collegiate membership runs for 4 consecutive years, no matter when you start. Therefore, it may not correspond with your actual timing in school. If you start as a Junior, you still get the full four years even if they occur after you have completed your schooling. On the other hand, there is no extension if you end up on the 5-6 year track. If you are an active competitor and still wish to receive financial distributions from ISCFC, you might consider delaying your transfer to the collegiate category until you have finished competing (but are still in school).

ANNUAL ISC of Fort Collins Membership Renewals:

Full memberships with USFSA expired on June 30, 2009.

Skaters need to be a current member to compete, test and audition for EPIC's Winter Wishes. All memberships renewed by June 30, 2009, are guaranteed inclusion in the ISCFC Member Directory.

Membership forms for the 2009-2010 season are available from the link below, and in the green rink file cabinet lower left drawer. Completed forms can be returned to the locked file cabinet (upper left drawer), or returned to Kathy Spurrier, Membership Chair.
